“I have decided to postpone my trip to Mexico until tomorrow due to the Air Force helicopter accident. “I want to accompany the families in their pain and personally continue the investigation to find out the causes of the event.”stated President Gustavo Petro.

This Sunday, the head of state will hold a “meeting with the Colombian community in Mexico City.” The meeting was scheduled to take place at the Esperanza Iris Municipal Theater around 4:00 p.m The meeting will have cultural presentations and performances by participants with the aim of getting President Petro to respond to their concerns.

The visit of the Colombian president was to be extended until Monday, September 30. The head of state was preparing for a meeting with Mexican businessmen from the aviation, communications and food sectors.

President Gustavo Petro was also scheduled to meet Mexico’s new president, Claudia Sheinbaum, to reactivate the G3, a bloc of countries that intend to forge a common position in the face of the political crisis facing Venezuela.

Claudia Sheinbaum was elected to replace Manuel Andrés López Obrado in the presidency of Mexico by receiving 58% and 60% of the vote.
